Cogent Skills is working with ConocoPhillips to recruit a Finance Placement student to work at its Teesside Operation in the finance department. This is an excellent opportunity to work at a global oil and gas exploration and production company in a varied and interesting role, with fantastic development opportunities.
Qualification Requirements:
This placement vacancy is for students studying a finance degree.

Students who have completed their 2nd year and are looking for a placement.
Students who have completed their 3rd year and are looking for a placement.
Students who are looking for a placement to complete their 4 year course.
If you have graduated from your degree you will not be considered for this vacancy.

Teesside Operations
The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage, and trans-shipment installation. The terminal also fractionates natural gas liquids into ethane, propane, and butane.
The terminal’s success is built on its high performing workforce and can provide opportunities throughout your career to progress and continually develop. With ongoing production from Ekofisk and Eldfisk, other redeveloped fields and new exploration projects in the works, the future looks bright as we prepare for a lifetime to 2050.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
Comply with UK Legislative, Regulatory and Company Safety requirements
Recognise COMAH regulations and Process Safety implications
Participate in incident investigations as required
Responsible for maintaining relevant documentation to reflect current National/International and Corporate/Business Unit standards and develop fit for purpose Teesside standards
Take accountability to remain compliant in your role by completing any required training in a timely manner
Financial Management and Business Support
Support month-end process including cost analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly reporting
Act as cover for the Accounts Payable Assistant with purchase invoice processing
Compile data for submission of Office for National Statistics forms
Create sundry sales invoices, e.g., S&T ships crew transport vehicle (Jetty buses)
Support annual budget process, including data analysis, collection, and presentation
Assist with year-end closing, annual audit and preparation of statutory accounts
