Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Teva UK
This apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to undertake comprehensive training and gain hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, machinery, and facilities. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will develop essential skills in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and preventive maintenance techniques, and develop knowledge and understanding of cGMP and health & safety requirements.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) - Grade 5 or above in Maths. Grade 4 or above in English and Science, and a further 2 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above.
A Level 2 STEM qualification will also be considered.
Salary - Starting at £19,292 per year.
Based on successful performance and completion of annual modules, pay will increase annually on the anniversary of start date and based on anticipated shift pattern.
Where modules are not completed, this will be reviewed.
Apprentices receive a shift disturbance allowance when they join the shift team.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities
Receiving mentorship and guidance from maintenance engineers and engineering managers, as an Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will:
Assist maintenance engineers in inspecting, diagnosing, installing and repairing machinery, equipment and facilities to gain experience in engineering hard skills.
Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and identifying root causes of issues to develop problem solving skills.
Learn to use a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment to maintain and repair machinery effectively.
Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory of spare parts to develop administrative and organisational skills which are essential for operating in a cGMP environment.
Participate in safety training programmes and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and minimise downtime.
Actively engage in learning opportunities and seek guidance from maintenance engineers to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Candidate Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and interest in engineering and maintenance.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred but not required
Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
Entry level with no prior experience
Training To Be Delivered
Qualification to be delivered: Engineering Maintenance Technician – Dual Discipline (Electrical & Mechanical) Apprenticeship Standard
Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge)
Apprenticeship Standard: Engineering Maintenance Technician – Dual Discipline (Electrical & Mechanical)
Training Provider: Cheshire College South & West
Delivery model: day release at Cheshire College - South & West at the Ellesmere Port campus. Years 1 & 2 – 2 days per week (technical knowledge and practical learning), Year 3 – 1 day per week (technical knowledge)

The successful candidate will be employed by Cogent Skills Services Ltd but will undertake all on-job learning with Teva UK Ltd. at its manufacturing site in Runcorn.
Please be aware that the business location is Runcorn and the training location is Ellesmere Port. The site is based on an industrial estate with limited public transport access (Whitehouse Vale, Aston Lane North, Runcorn, WA7 3FA). From year 2, you will work a continental day shift, which will include weekend work.
You will be expected to make your own travel arrangements to site (and college) to meet with agreed working hours each week, without issue.
Teva is a sterile site, which means there is a high risk of contamination. As a result, you will not be permitted to wear jewellery, make-up, false nails/gel/nail polish, false eyelashes etc.
